Clueless (1995)
Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is rich, pretty, blonde, popular and knows how to talk anyone into doing just about anything. When she can't get a teacher to give her a better grade, she and her friend Dionne (Stacey Dash) match him up with another teacher in hopes of making him happier, and ultimately, causing him to become lax on his class expectations. When a girl named Tai (Brittany Murphy) transfers to Cher's school, she and Dion give her a makeover and attempt to find her a boyfriend. Cher soon realizes that she wants a boyfriend herself, but no one seems right. She goes through a spiritual makeover and realizes that there's more to life than clothes and popularity before she finds the boy of her dreams. True, this seems like a cheesy movie, and it is. But, I still thought that it was adorable. This movie reminded me of a modern day Emma (Jane Austen novel). Just like Emma, Cher was trying to help others by playing matchmaker, only to discover that the guy she really wanted was right under her nose the entire time. So, overall, I enjoyed this movie and I wouldn't mind watching it again.
