Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009)
The Ice Age story continues. Manny (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) are mammoths, and Ellie is pregnant. Sid the sloth, who is a dear friend of Manny's, would like nothing more than to be a father. He stumbles upon what he thinks to be three unattended eggs. They hatch, and baby dinosaurs come out of them. For a day, Sid gets emotionally attached to them. But, the mother dinosaur comes looking for them, and ends up taking Sid back down below the sheets of ice and into an area where there are tons of dinosaurs. Manny, Ellie, and a few of the others follow the dinosaur in order to rescue their friend Sid. Along the way, they meet new creatures and new friends. Personally, I think that they should have stopped making the Ice Age movies after the first one. The first one was original and funny, but it would seem as if they have ruined it by trying to make sequels. Also, Queen Latifah's character, named Ellie, gets on my nerves. Ellie got on my nerves in Ice Age: The Meltdown, and she got on my nerves in this one, too. The film wasn't a total disaster. It seemed to be pretty action packed for a children's movie. So, it would probably be able to keep the attention span of a small child. But, it definitely wasn't as funny as the original Ice Age movie. Overall, it was decent, and it managed to keep my attention. But, it was no where near as good as the first one.
I gave this movie 5/10 stars on imdb.com.
