The Time Traveler's Wife (2009)
Clare Abshire (Rachel McAdams) comes across Henry DeTamble (Eric Bana) in the library. Since Henry has a genetic anomaly that allows him to travel in time, Clare is already aware of who Henry is, even though Henry hasn't yet gotten acquainted with Clare. So, they meet up later that night to have dinner, and Clare explains about how Henry's older self had visited her many times in the past when she was just a little girl. Because of this, Clare had fallen in love with him. She had known him practically her entire life. So, they end up getting married. But, Henry's time travel had a downside because he is unable to control the moment that he disappears, or even the destination of his voyages. So, it would seem that he comes and goes during the most inconvenient times. I had been wanting to see this movie for a while, and was actually surprised at how sad it is. It's definitely not a heart warming love story. In addition to the sadness, there were several parts during the movie that confused me. I had trouble understanding the plot, at times. Also, I know that time travel is a drastic point in this movie, but it would sometimes get on my nerves. I couldn't imagine having to live with someone that will sporadically disappear for two weeks at a time. But, I thought that it was overall good. The storyline was a bit weird, but at least it wasn't cliche.
I gave this movie 6/10 stars on imdb.com.
