Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief movie review

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010)

Zeus' lightning bolt gets stolen, and he blames it on Poseidon's son, Percy Jackson. But, at the time of this incident, Percy doesn't even know that he is the son of Poseidon. Zeus still thinks that Percy stole it, so he gives a certain amount of time for Percy to return the lightning bolt before he decides to initiate a war against his brother. One day, while Percy is visiting the Museum of Metropolitan of Art, he is attacked by a Fury. Grover, Percy's best friend, ends up saving his life and explaining to him that he is a demigod. Grover takes him to a special place where people like Percy are hidden from the rest of the world. Percy's mother had tagged along for this, but was taken by a monster and is now stuck in hell with Hades. At the camp, Percy learns about the lightning bolt, trains a bit, and meets Annabeth. Together, Percy, Grover, and Annabeth decide to visit Hades in order to get his mother back, as well as to try to figure out who the lightning thief really was. Perhaps it's just because I don't like, nor understand, Greek mythology, but I didn't really find this movie to be that entertaining. The entire movie just seemed a bit rushed, and the acting wasn't great. I've also read other reviews that people have written, and it seems that the book doesn't really follow the movie that well. I wouldn't know this since I haven't read the book, but oh well. I still didn't really enjoy the movie that much.

I gave this movie 3/10 stars on imdb.com.
